Please Note

We really appreciate you taking your first step in contacting our service, but sadly we have had to take the difficult decision to hibernate ACCESS for the foreseeable future. We hope that we will be able to reopen, but at this time we do not know when this will be and therefore felt that it was unfair and unhelpful to keep you waiting to be seen by our service.

We appreciate that this will not be welcome news especially in the current background of a pandemic and you have our sincere apologies for this.

If you are still looking for support we advise that you contact your GP, but you may also wish to look at the following website: https://www.healthierlsc.co.uk/MentalHealthSupport

When we are able to open again we will update our social media accounts to reflect this and would be very happy to see you in the future.

We Will Hear You

Services

ACCESS offers a wide range of services and can also tailor services to suite individuals, couples, families and groups. Services are offered by qualified and training counsellors. Anybody can refer themselves to our service; they do not have to ask a doctor or social worker.

There are many different counselling approaches. The approach used by Access volunteers is the Person-Centred approach.

ACCESS offers:

  • A highly confidential service.
  • One to One counselling at ACCESS rooms in Lancaster and Outreaches to schools, organisations and homes when appropriate.
  • Family mediation/Couple therapy working with family members separately and as a family unit within ACCESS rooms: the neutral ground empowering an atmosphere of equality for all family members.
  • Counselling through play for work with younger clients.
  • Emotional Support this service is used commonly by people who do not require counselling, but may need someone supportive to talk to.
  • Signposting and referrals to other services locally as required.
  • Experience and placements for counsellors and training counsellors.
